Cloud in a Glass

As a small experiment I sampled a sequence of an overflowing glass. The images in the movies look as follows

Adding all the images in the movies together and dividing the sum by the number of images gives the expectancy of a specific color for every pixel. This leads to the following image.

Heisenberg glass

A number of interesting thing can be observed here. The first is that the glass in the bottom images reveals details that are not visible in any of the original images. It reveals the bubbles embedded in the glass which is something undetectable in any of the individual frames. If we look at the deviation instead of the mean we get the following image

Equalization of this image leads to

A similar image can be obtained by taking the maximum intensity at every pixel
